  • Total Time: 10 min
  • Yield: 3-4 servings 1x

Description

Crisp fresh bok choy cooked in butter and garlic. Quick to make and pairs well as a side dish or eaten as is.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb bok choy
  • 45 smashed garlic
  • 1 tbsp salted butter
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut bok choy in quarters to keep them intact. Rinse in between bok choy leaves.
  2. Smash garlic and set aside
  3. On med – high heat add bok choy to your cast iron. Place sliced bok choy and cook for 1-2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add smashed garlic and butter to pan and base bok boy with garlic and butter. Cook each side for 1-2 mins. Cook longer if you want it softer and less time if you like it to still have a bite.
  5. Eat as is or serve as a side.

Notes

Tips:

  • Cooking times will vary by how you like your vegetables and by the size. The larger bok choy will require more time whereas the smaller ones will be less time.
  • Make sure to rinse bok choy well since we’re not cutting off the stem. You need to carefully lift each leaf individually to properly clean it.
