Spicy Garlic Chili Udon Noodles

Description

The noodles are nice and chewy and it’s coated with a gorgeous spicy, sweet and savory sauce. The best part about this dish? It requires only cooking from the udon noodles and heating up hot oil. Everything else is just prep work. This whole dish can come together quite quickly to satisfy that noodle craving. To make this meal more complete, feel free to add your choice of veggies and protein.


Ingredients

  • 250g udon noodles
  • 1 tsp Thai chili flakes
  • 1 tsp gochugaru (Korean Pepper flakes)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 spring onion (sliced)
  • Cilantro (chopped)
  • 3 tbsp hot neutral oil
  • Sauce:
  • 1 tbsp @kikkomanusa light soy sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp thick sweet soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp @leekumkeeusa premium dark soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp chicken bouillon
  • Optional:
  • cucumber slices (or your choice of veggies)

Instructions

1. Cook your noodles according to package.

2. Mix your sauce together

3. Put your noodles in a plate or bowl

4. Add your Thai chili, Gochugaru, sesame seeds, garlic, green onion, and cilantro over the noodles.

5. Heat up oil in a pan until smoking hot, but be careful not to burn it, then pour the oil over your noodles and watch it sizzle.

6. Pour sauce over the noodles, add cucumber, and mix together until the sauce covers the noodles.

7. Eat immediately!
