Creamy Crab Wontons

  • Author: Tiffany Ly
  • Total Time: 13 min
  • Yield: 30 wontons 1x

Description

A creamy cream cheese crab filling in a crispy and slightly chewy wonton wrapper. You will most definitely want to make this for your next gathering or just for a nice snack. Be careful though, they are really addicting! I found myself “trying” them as they came out the fryer just to make sure it was safe to eat

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 block 8oz cream cheese
  • 1/3 cup kewpie mayo
  • 5 oz crab
  • 5 stalks green onion
  • 1/2 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground white pepper
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional if you like it on the sweeter side)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, add softened cream cheese and mix until smooth.
  2. Add Kewpie mayo, garlic powder, sugar, soy sauce, and white pepper and mix well.
  3. Throw in crab and sliced green onions. Gently fold everything together.
  4. Take your wonton wrapper and lightly wet the sides with water.
  5. Add about 1/2 tbsp of filling in the middle. (You can use less but not more or it will explode while frying). Fold the opposite corners into a triangle. Take the remaining 2 corners to meet the middle. Pinch everything together trying to squeeze out any air. Repeat until no more filling is left.
  6. Heat oil to 350°F. Fry for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown. Take it out and drain any excess oil with a paper towel.
  7. Serve with chili sauce and enjoy while it’s still hot!
